Louie Bluie Crafters

Our crafters are skilled in the hand-me-down traditions of these Cumberland Mountains as well as those with more contemporary appeal. They include basket weaving, wooden toys and games, hand made bird houses, woodworking and carving, stitchery, rug hooking, hand painted china, and countless objects skillfully and imaginatively transformed.

LOUIE BLUIE IS ABOUT … ART!

Fabulous art exhibited, that may include canvas art, hand painted/handcrafted objects, pottery, quilting/fabric art, needlecraft, stained glass, pen & ink, calligraphy, and more... without the museum or admission fee! The sixth annual judging and exhibition of amateur art is part of the Louie Bluie Music & Arts Festival. Spend time strolling past impressive paintings and art objects created by regional amateur artists - both youth and adult - in the quiet, air conditioned Park Pavilion on the festival grounds.

Entries and judging will be held Friday, Sept. 28 and all entries will be on exhibit the next day. Entries are not restricted to any locale. “We’re looking forward to getting a variety of artwork submissions from all over the East Tennessee region,” said Karen Cumorich, Art Committee Chair. “And we are encouraging youth to enter and enjoy having their art become judged art,” said Cumorich. Learn more information about the judging and entry information.

If you are an amateur artist, enter this popular showcase of regional talent and let your talent shine. All festival attendees are urged to visit the free exhibit until it closes at 5 pm.

Visit the Park’s Recreation Center (Pavilion) to catch this year's works of art!
